Shift: 8hr days Monday-Friday 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM

Job Summary:
A Pathologists' Assistant works closely with pathologists to perform autopsies, examine surgical specimens, and assist in the diagnosis of diseases and conditions. They play a crucial role in assisting pathologists by preparing and dissecting tissue samples, collecting data, and maintaining accurate records.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assist pathologists in conducting autopsies and examining surgical specimens.
2. Prepare and dissect tissue samples for microscopic examination.
3. Collect data, enter results into computer systems, and maintain accurate records.
4. Assist in performing special procedures and tests as required.
5. Handle and dispose of hazardous materials in compliance with safety protocols.
6. Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to provide accurate diagnoses.
7. Participate in research activities and help develop new techniques for diagnosis and treatment.
8. Keep abreast of new developments in the field of pathology and participate in relevant training and educational programs.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g. biology, anatomy, or medical technology).
2. Certification as a Pathologists' Assistant from an accredited program.
3. Strong knowledge of anatomy, histology, and pathology principles.
4. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
5. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
6. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
7. Proficiency in using laboratory equipment and computer systems.
8. Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures related to handling hazardous materials.
