Job Summary:
As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), you will work under the supervision of licensed occupational therapists to provide high-quality rehabilitative services to patients of all ages. Your primary goal will be to help patients develop or regain the skills needed for everyday activities and improve their overall quality of life.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assist occupational therapists in the development and implementation of treatment plans
- Work directly with patients to execute therapeutic exercises and activities
- Monitor and document patient progress
- Educate patients and their families on techniques for increasing independence and improving function
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for patients
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all ethical standards
Qualifications and Skills:
- Associate's degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant program
- Current COTA certification and state licensure
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team setting
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Compassionate and patient-focused attitude
