Job Title: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) - Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR)
Location: Midland, MI
Shift: Days 6:30 AM - 5:00 PM
Duration: 13 weeks
Job Summary:
The Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) in the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) is responsible for assisting in surgical procedures specific to the cardiovascular system. They work closely with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a safe and efficient surgery process.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Prepare operating room for surgery by setting up sterile instruments, equipment, and supplies
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and supplies
- Maintain a sterile field throughout the surgery to prevent infection
- Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and ensure a smooth workflow
- Handle specimens for laboratory analysis
- Provide patient care before, during, and after surgery
- Assist with patient positioning and transportation
- Monitor and maintain surgical equipment
- Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols
Qualifications and Skills:
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited surgical technology program
- Previous experience working in a cardiovascular operating room preferred
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and multitask effectively
- Knowledge of surgical instruments and equipment
