Job Title: Audiologist
Location: Des Moines, IA
Shift: Days: Monday – Thursday, 8:00 – 5:00, Friday 8:00 – 2:30
Duration: 13 weeks
Job Summary:
The Audiologist is responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients with hearing and balance disorders. They work to improve patients' quality of life by providing personalized hearing healthcare solutions.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Conduct hearing assessments to determine the extent of patients' hearing loss.
2. Develop and implement personalized treatment plans for patients, including fitting hearing aids and providing auditory rehabilitation.
3. Provide counseling and education to patients and their families on hearing loss and communication strategies.
4. Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
5. Stay current on advancements in audiology research and technology.
6. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care for patients.
7. Participate in community outreach programs to promote hearing health awareness.
8. Adhere to ethical and legal standards in audiologic practice.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Doctoral degree in Audiology (Au.D.) from an accredited program.
2. State licensure to practice audiology.
3. Certification from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) or equivalent.
4. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
5. Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving abilities.
6. Proficiency in audiologic assessments and hearing aid fittings.
7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
8. Commitment to continuing education and professional development.
