Job Title: Labor and Delivery Nurse
Location: Plymouth, NH
Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM Days 36 hours Guaranteed
Duration: 13 weeks
Job Summary:
The Labor and Delivery Nurse is responsible for providing high-quality care to expectant mothers and their newborns during the labor and delivery process. This role requires excellent clinical skills, a compassionate demeanor, and the ability to handle high-stress situations with professionalism.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Monitor and assess the progress of labor
2. Administer medications and pain management techniques as needed
3. Assist with the delivery of babies, including providing support to the mother
4. Monitor the health and well-being of both mother and baby after delivery
5. Educate new mothers on postpartum care and newborn care
6. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to ensure optimal patient outcomes
7. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation
8. Provide emotional support and guidance to patients and their families
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Registered Nurse (RN) license
2. Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Nursing
3. Certification in Obstetrics and/or Labor and Delivery nursing preferred
4. BLS and ACLS certification
5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
6. Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment
7. Knowledge of current trends and best practices in obstetrics and labor and delivery care
8. Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
9. Attention to detail and strong critical thinking skills
