Job Title: RN Wound Care Specialist
Location: Pittsfield, MA
Shift: 8hr days (7a-3.30p or 8a-4.30p)
Duration: 13 Weeks
Job Summary:
As an RN Wound Care Specialist, you will be responsible for providing expert care and treatment for patients with acute or chronic wounds. You will assess the wound, develop and implement treatment plans, and monitor progress to ensure optimal healing. Your expertise in wound care will help improve patient outcomes and quality of life.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Conduct thorough assessments of wounds, including size, depth, and surrounding tissue
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings and patient needs
- Provide wound care treatments such as debridement, dressing changes, and wound irrigation
- Monitor and evaluate the progress of wound healing, adjusting treatment plans as needed
- Educate patients and caregivers on proper wound care techniques and prevention strategies
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care and optimize patient outcomes
- Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of wound assessments, treatments, and progress
Qualifications and Skills:
- Valid RN license in the state of practice
- Certification in wound care (e.g. Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nursing Certification)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in wound care nursing
- Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in electronic health record systems
