Job Title: RN Operating Room
Job Summary:
The RN Operating Room is responsible for providing perioperative care to patients undergoing surgical procedures. They collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the safety and well-being of patients before, during, and after surgery.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assessing patients before surgery and developing a care plan
2. Assisting the surgical team during procedures
3. Monitoring the patient's vital signs and responding to any changes
4. Providing post-operative care and monitoring for complications
5. Educating patients and their families about the surgical process and post-operative care
6. Maintaining a sterile and safe surgical environment
7. Documenting patient care and treatment progress
8. Participating in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes
9. Adhering to all hospital policies and procedures
10. Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Active RN license in the state of practice
2. BLS and ACLS certification
3. Minimum of 2 years of experience in an operating room setting
4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
5. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle high-stress situations
6. Attention to detail and strong critical thinking skills
7. Knowledge of surgical procedures and sterile techniques
8. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
9. Flexibility to work varying shifts, including nights and weekends
10. Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred
