Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Medical Surgical

Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse in the Medical Surgical unit is responsible for providing direct patient care, assessing patient conditions, administering medications, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care. The RN Med Surg will also educate patients and their families on disease prevention and treatment.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assess patient health status and develop individualized care plans
2. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
3. Monitor and record patient vital signs
4. Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure coordinated care
5. Educate patients on health maintenance and disease prevention
6. Provide emotional support to patients and their families
7. Document patient care accurately and timely
8. Adhere to safety and infection control policies and procedures
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Current RN license in the state of practice
2. BLS certification
3. 2+ years of experience in Medical Surgical nursing preferred
4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
5. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
6. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
7. Ability to prioritize and multitask effectively
8. Knowledge of EMR systems and medical terminology
