Job Title: Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery (RN L&D)
location: Sidney, MT
Shift: Night 18:45-07:00
Days: 13 weeks
Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse in Labor and Delivery is responsible for providing comprehensive care to pregnant women and their newborn babies during labor, delivery, and postpartum. The RN L&D must have a thorough understanding of the childbirth process and be skilled in monitoring the mother and baby's progress, administering medication, and providing emotional support to patients and their families.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Monitor and assess the progress of labor and the condition of the mother and baby
- Administer medications and pain management as needed
- Assist with delivery, including providing emotional support and coaching to the mother
- Care for newborn babies immediately after birth, including assessing health and administering medications
- Educate patients on postpartum care and breastfeeding
- Collaborate with other healthcare providers to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients
Qualifications and Skills:
- Active Registered Nurse license in the state of practice
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred
- Previous Labor and Delivery experience preferred
- BLS and ACLS certification
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
