Job Title: PCU Nurse
Location: Concord, NH
Shift: Nights
Duration: 13 Weeks
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate PCU Nurse to join our dynamic team. The PCU Nurse will provide specialized care for patients in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) who are experiencing a higher acuity level than those on the general medical-surgical floors, but are not quite stable enough for the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). The PCU Nurse will monitor patients, administer medications, collaborate with healthcare team members, and provide education to patients and their families.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Monitor and assess patients' conditions and report changes to healthcare team
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans
- Educate patients and their families on post-discharge care and follow-up instructions
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records
- Adhere to hospital policies and procedures
- Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance skills and knowledge
Qualifications and Skills:
- Valid RN license
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in acute care setting, preferably in PCU or ICU
- BLS and ACLS certifications
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks
- Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and best practices
