Job Title: PACU Nurse
Location: Espanola, NM
Shift: 8 hour Days
Duration: 13 weeks
Job Summary:
The PACU Nurse is responsible for providing post-anesthesia care to patients recovering from surgery. They will monitor vital signs, assess patient conditions, and provide support and care as patients awaken from anesthesia.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Monitor post-operative patients for signs of distress or complications
- Administer medications and treatments as needed
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure continuity of care
- Educate patients and their families on post-operative care instructions
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records
- Assist with patient transfers and discharge planning
Qualifications and Skills:
- Must be a registered nurse with a current license
- Prior experience in a PACU or critical care setting preferred
- BLS and ACLS certification required
- Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
