Job Title: Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) Nurse
Location: Midland, TX
Shift: Days with Call (40 guaranteed)
Duration: 13 Weeks
Job Summary:
The CVOR nurse is responsible for assisting surgeons during cardiovascular surgeries, ensuring that the operating room is equipped with necessary supplies and instruments, and providing patient care before, during, and after procedures. They work closely with the surgical team to deliver high-quality patient outcomes in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Prepare the operating room for procedures, including sterilizing equipment and ensuring all necessary supplies are available
2. Assist the surgical team during procedures, passing instruments and supplies as needed
3. Monitor patients during surgery, including vital signs and anesthesia administration
4. Provide post-operative care and monitoring to ensure patients recover smoothly
5. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans
6. Educate patients and families on post-operative care instructions
7. Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
8. Adhere to all hospital and regulatory guidelines for patient care and safety
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Current RN license
2. BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
3. Minimum of 2 years of experience in a cardiovascular operating room setting
4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
5. Ability to work well under pressure and in a team environment
6. Attention to detail and strong critical thinking skills
7. Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
8. Knowledge of cardiovascular procedures and equipment
