Job Title: Radiation Therapist
Location: Watertown, NY
Shift: Day Shift (7a-5p) 40 hours Guaranteed
Duration: 13 weeks
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Radiation Therapist to join our team. The Radiation Therapist will be responsible for administering radiation therapy to patients in accordance with the treatment plan developed by the Radiation Oncologist. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of radiation therapy techniques and practices, as well as excellent communication and patient care skills.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Administering radiation therapy treatments to patients according to the treatment plan
- Monitoring patient reaction to treatment and reporting any adverse reactions to the Radiation Oncologist
- Educating patients on the treatment process and answering any questions or concerns they may have
- Maintaining accurate patient records and treatment logs
- Collaborating with other members of the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient care
- Ensuring the safety and comfort of patients during treatment sessions
- Participating in quality assurance activities to ensure the effectiveness of treatment
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Radiation Therapy or related field
- Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- State licensure as a Radiation Therapist
- Strong understanding of radiation therapy techniques and equipment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
