Job Title: Registered Nurse - OB/GYN
Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse - OB/GYN provides specialized care to women throughout their pregnancy, labor, and postpartum periods. They are responsible for conducting assessments, implementing nursing interventions, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure the best outcomes for both the mother and baby.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Conducting prenatal assessments and monitoring fetal development
2. Assisting with childbirth and providing postpartum care
3. Educating patients on pregnancy, childbirth, and newborn care
4. Administering medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
5. Collaborating with physicians and midwives to create individualized care plans
6. Providing emotional support and guidance to patients and their families
7. Monitoring for signs of complications and escalating as needed
8. Documenting patient progress and maintaining accurate medical records
9. Participating in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education activities
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Current RN license in the state of practice
2. Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred
3. Certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology Nursing (C-OBGYN) preferred
4. At least 2 years of experience in obstetrics and gynecology nursing
5. BLS and ACLS certification
6. Strong critical thinking and communication skills
7. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
8. Compassionate and empathetic bedside manner
