As a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in a skilled nursing facility in California, you will be responsible for providing direct patient care and assisting with daily living activities under the supervision of a licensed nurse. Your compassion, empathy, and attention to detail will be crucial in ensuring the comfort and well-being of elderly or disabled residents.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure and temperature
- Assist with turning and repositioning residents in bed to prevent bedsores
- Assist with feeding residents who require help
- Provide emotional support and companionship to residents
- Follow care plans and communicate any changes in residents' condition to the nursing staff
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for residents
- Adhere to all facility policies and procedures
Qualifications and Skills:
- Valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in California
- High school diploma or GED
- Previous experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care facility preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work as part of a team and take direction from nursing staff
- Compassionate and patient demeanor
- Ability to lift and move residents with physical limitations
