Job Summary:
As a Long Term Care Geriatric LPN, you will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to elderly patients in long-term care facilities. This role requires compassion, patience, and a strong understanding of geriatric healthcare practices.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Administer medications and treatments to patients as prescribed by physicians.
2. Monitor and record vital signs and symptoms of elderly patients.
3. Assist in developing care plans for individual patients based on their health needs.
4. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients.
5. Educate patients and their families on various health topics and self-care techniques.
6. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in accordance with healthcare regulations.
7. Respond to emergencies and provide immediate care to patients in distress.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Valid LPN license in the state of practice.
2. Previous experience working with geriatric patients in a long-term care setting.
3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
4. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and stressful environment.
5. Knowledge of geriatric nursing principles and practices.
6. CPR certification.
7. Ability to multitask and prioritize patient care needs.
