**Job Title:** Float RN Med/Surg
**Job Summary:**
The Float RN Med/Surg is responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. This role involves working across various units within the hospital, providing care for patients with a wide range of medical conditions. The Float RN must be adaptable, quick-thinking, and able to handle the challenges of working in a constantly changing environment.
**Responsibilities and Duties:**
1. Provide direct patient care, including administering medications, assessing patient conditions, and implementing treatment plans.
2. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
3. Monitor patients' progress, evaluate treatment effectiveness, and make adjustments as necessary.
4. Educate patients and their families on medical conditions, treatment options, and self-care strategies.
5. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records.
6. Assist with patient admissions, discharges, and transfers.
7. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to all hospital policies and procedures.
**Qualifications and Skills:**
1. Current RN license in the state of employment.
2. Minimum of 2 years of recent Med/Surg experience.
3. BLS and ACLS certifications.
4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
6. Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
7. Willingness to float to various units based on staffing needs.
