Job Title: RN-Psychiatric
Job Summary:
As an RN-Psychiatric, you will be responsible for providing high-quality psychiatric care to patients with mental health disorders. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate treatment plans for patients experiencing psychiatric crises. Your role will also involve educating patients and their families on mental health issues and promoting positive coping skills.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Conduct thorough psychiatric assessments and develop individualized care plans.
2. Administer medications and treatments prescribed by psychiatrists.
3. Monitor patients for changes in mental status and intervene as necessary.
4. Provide therapy and counseling to patients to improve coping skills and promote recovery.
5. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure holistic patient care.
6. Advocate for patients' rights and well-being.
7. Document patient progress and maintain accurate medical records.
8. Participate in continuous education and training to stay current on best practices in psychiatric nursing.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Valid RN license in the state of practice.
2. Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.
3. Certification in psychiatric nursing highly desirable.
4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Ability to remain calm and focused in high-stress situations.
6. Knowledge of psychiatric medications and treatment modalities.
7. Experience working with diverse populations.
8. Empathy and compassion for patients with mental health disorders.
